British designer Paul Smith, known for his inventive approach to fashion and design, has partnered with Artek, the Finnish company founded in 1935 by Alvar and Aino Aalto, leading figures of modernism. For this collaboration, he revisits three classic designs by Alvar Aalto: the Stool 60, the Screen 100 and the Coat Rack 109. Produced in Finland from local wood, these enduring pieces are reinterpreted with Paul Smith’s signature eye for detail, from contrasting wood tones to unexpected touches such as the stool’s ultramarine underside.
